Having trouble cutting miters on reed spline when replacing cane on furniture? Reed spline is a V-shaped piece of cane. To miter it, the cane needs to be standing vertically when it's cut. This cutting guide holds the reed spline vertically while providing a 45 degree angle edge to align the cutting knife. This ensures the miter joints on the reed spline match well when put together.
The reed spline miter guide is small enough to be used while holding it on a piece of furniture to finish a miter cut where two pieces meet.
This is made in our own workshop using hardwood. The wood is bare as it helps prevent the reed spline from slipping on the guide.
